Stop Brushing With a Germ-Covered Toothbrush
Frequently Asked Questions
How effective is UV-C light at killing toothbrush bacteria?
UV-C light at 254nm is one of the most effective disinfection methods available, used in hospitals and water treatment facilities. Studies show UV-C exposure of 10 to 30 seconds at adequate intensity can eliminate 99.9 percent of common oral bacteria including Streptococcus mutans (the primary cause of cavities), Staphylococcus aureus, and various fungal pathogens. UV-C reaches into the spaces between bristles where water cannot effectively penetrate.
How long does a sanitisation cycle last?
Each cycle runs for 6 to 10 minutes, providing sufficient UV-C exposure to achieve maximum pathogen elimination. The device automatically switches off after the cycle completes. We recommend sanitising after every brushing session. Allow the bristles to air-dry slightly before placing the brush in the sanitiser as excess moisture can slightly reduce UV penetration efficiency.
Is the UV-C light safe for me and my family?
The UV-C light is fully enclosed within the sanitiser housing during operation and does not emit UV radiation externally. Do not open the device or look directly at the UV-C bulb during operation. As long as the device is used as designed, there is no UV exposure risk. Keep out of reach of children to prevent tampering during operation.
Does it work for electric toothbrush heads as well as manual brushes?
Yes. The sanitiser accommodates standard manual toothbrush heads and most electric toothbrush replacement heads. Check that the replacement head dimensions fit within the holder before purchasing if you use a non-standard brand. The UV-C light reaches all exposed bristle surfaces regardless of brush head shape.
